On 10 April, Khun Jermjai Pornpibul, Vice President of VIBULKIJ Publishing Group and her friend, Khun Pataporn came & donated cash, food and comics.

Khun Jermjai on behalf of VIBULKIJ Publishing Group, (publisher of Thai version of Detective Conan comics) donated 50 books from the series.

On April 14. Long Por Pitak led six of our novices and a small group of children, staff & volunteers to pay respects, make offerings & seek forgiveness from Phra Kru Anuchit, asenior monk from of Wat Pha Ang & Phra Ajan Pa Thai, Abbot of Wat Doi Kew Khamin as part of the Thai New Year customs.

Tuition of School Subjects

Our children were tutored for a few days in their school subjects during this holiday by a volunteer, Khun Tanapol Chaosuan.

Khun Tanapol, (a 3rd year Civil Engineering undergraduate of Chiang Mai University) in particular tutored the new children in preparing for their admission tests into the Mae Hong Son schools.

Once Khun Tanapol tutored the children from morning to night. The children had benefited much from his tutoring.

We truly wish to record our deepest appreciation & thank you to Khun Tanapol!!

Community Service at Wat Pah Ban Mai post Dhamma Camp during Makha Bucha 2015
(pls refer March 19 post)

Some of the Children recently returned to the Wat to wash & dry all the blankets used by the 100 camp participants.

They spent the whole day washing, drying, keeping, folding & keeping all the blankets.

Donation & Services from Khun Sirasit Chengsuttha

We greatly appreciate Khun Sirasit's thoughfulness & generosity in giving us a big tin of chocolate wafer on March 26 afternoon.

Khun Sirasit recently ordained as a novice monk joining our child P (pls refer to our 24 March post) & had volunteered his services during the 1 week to our Home - sweeping, washing toilets & other chores.

He is still volunteering his services to us whenever he is free.
He also volunteered to assist the children in their maintenance work in digging soil from the stream & transporting the soil to a garden.

Thank you very much Khun Sirasit!

Community Service at a funeral wake at Wat Pah Ban Mai (WPBM)

Recently, the children performed community service for 3 nights at a funeral wake at WPBM.
They helped prepare drinks, served them with titbits, decorated, washed & cleaned up.
On cremation day, the children served breakfast, lunch & drinks, washed & cleared up.
They then joined the family in pulling the deceased's wake from temple to cremation grounds.
There the children helped to serve drinks, later cleared up.
As the deceased did not have a male family member, his mum requested for volunteers to ordain as novice monks for a week. One of our Children, P, 12 years old volunteered.
He held himself very well during the ordination ceremony & eased himself effortlessly as a good novice.
We were so proud of him!
The family was very grateful for the children’s help & support.
The children indeed have continuously “gave back” to their community, from Life till Death….
